None of this is required. Every detail you can give simply means the first look starts further along, and it keeps you from having to answer the same questions twice.
- The address and the neighborhood
Fate roofs differ by the year the street was built and by the association that governs it, so the address tells us more than you would expect. Say whether it is your home, a rental you own or a commercial building.
- What you actually noticed
A stain spreading on a bedroom ceiling, grit collecting under a downspout, shingles in the yard after a windy night, a drip that only shows up when the rain blows from one direction. Describe it in your own words. You do not need the roofing term for it.
- The storm date, if there was one
If the trouble started after a specific storm, name the date. April 27, 2026 and June 11, 2023 are the two that come up most often here, and a date lets the roof be lined up against the record instead of against a guess.
- How old the roof is and what is on it
Original builder roof or replaced at some point? If your closing paperwork or an old association approval names the shingle brand, line or color, mention it. That matters for matching a repair and for any warranty question.
- Photos, if you have them
Pictures from the ground of the roof, the gutters, a ceiling stain or debris in the yard are genuinely useful. They are optional, they do not replace a look at the roof, and none of them are worth climbing a ladder for. Please stay on the ground.

A time gets arranged and the roof gets looked at
A roofer contacts you to set a time that works, then walks the slopes and checks the attic where there is access. Flashings, boots, valleys, ventilation and the shingle surface all get photographed, including the parts that turn out to be fine.
The findings come back in writing
What needs attention now, what can wait a season, and what the work includes: materials, the parts of the roof involved, and the price. Written down, so you can read it twice and compare it with anyone else’s.
You decide what happens next
Repair it, replace it, take it to your insurer, or sit on it until the timing is better. If you want another opinion first, take one. Nothing moves until you say so.

Your details go to that roofer so they can reach you about the roof, which is what the privacy policy describes.
Can I send a commercial building through this form?
Yes, and a few extra lines save a phone call. Tell us what the building is used for, the roof type if you know it, roughly how old it is, where the water shows up inside, what equipment sits on the roof, and any access limits such as tenant notice or hours the work cannot happen.
