Why we are here
Fate has far more roofs than it has roofing history. A fifteen-year building boom put thousands of similar roofs up at nearly the same time, and now they age at the same time and take the same hail on the same evenings. Every spring that turns into a season where level-headed people are asked to make an expensive decision quickly, usually while somebody they have never met stands in the driveway explaining it to them.
This site is the slower version of that conversation. You say where the roof is and what you noticed. A roofer gets on it, looks in the attic where there is access, and photographs what is actually there. Then you get it in plain words and in writing: what needs doing, what can wait, and what the work costs. If a repair will put the roof right, that is what you should hear, even though the bigger job pays better.
We would rather be the page you read before you decide than the number you call in a panic. That is why most of what is here is explanation and tools instead of slogans, and why nothing on this site claims a crew, an award or a track record we cannot show you.

Our standards
Values are cheap to print and expensive to keep. These four are written as conduct, so you can hold a real conversation up against them and see whether it measures.
The first question on any roof is whether the trouble is contained. One cracked pipe boot, one open flashing joint, one hail-struck slope on a roof that is otherwise sound is a repair, and saying so costs us the larger job. Replacement is the honest answer when the wear runs across every slope, and when it is the answer you should be shown the photographs that make the case.
A proposal should say what happens: tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, the shingle product and the color, and what it leaves out. Two bids only mean something when both of them name what they are buying you. A figure written on the back of a card is not a price you can compare.
Asking a question is not agreeing to anything. Read the answer, get a second opinion, talk it over at the kitchen table, wait until the timing suits your budget. A roof decision that still looks right a week later usually is right.
For an owner or a property manager the roof is one part of keeping the doors open. Drainage, rooftop units, tenants, delivery routes and working hours shape a commercial scope as much as the membrane does, so that work is planned on its own terms instead of as a house with more squares.
The fastest way to judge a roofing website is to look for something on it that could not have been written about any other town. Here is ours, and all of it works without giving anyone a phone number.
The Fate storm history is the NOAA record of hail and wind reported near the middle of town, listed by date and size, so you can find the evening your own roof went through instead of taking our word for it. Fate, Texas
Fate incorporated in 1900 with roughly 500 residents, and it had already earned a footnote the year before as the first town in Texas with a rural mail route, which began on August 1, 1899. The early decades were hard on the buildings. Fire destroyed the south side of the business district on December 31, 1906 and the north side in 1910, and a tornado on July 4, 1933 tore through much of the town.
Then Fate stayed small for a long time. The census counted 6,357 people in 2010 and 17,958 in 2020, and the estimate now sits near 29,000. That curve sits behind almost every roofing conversation in this city. A large share of the housing went up inside one short window, which means a large share of the roofs will reach the end of their first life within a few seasons of one another.
Knowing which streets were built when, and which hail dates crossed them, is most of what makes local roofing advice worth anything. That is the part we work at.
